Papa Jones BBQ and Grill is a food stall located in the neighborhood area of Ang Mo Kio Ave 3 that serves Authentic Western Cuisine. This stall is opened by an Ex-Shangri-La Hotel Chef Jackson with many years of culinary experience.
Our Review on Papa Jones BBQ and Grill (AMK)
We chanced upon the Papa Jones BBQ and Grill when we googled for Western Food and for an instance we thought Botak Jones was back in the North. We were mistaken and we decided to give them a try on a Sunday afternoon (near to their Afternoon Closing Time) and this Stall was located in the same stretch as the new Hua Shan Roasted Delights Stall.
Their Signboard Sized Menu
We were shocked when we saw their Menu which was like a Giant Signboard (no chance to take photo) and we were lucky there was no other customers behind us so we could take some time to see what they had.
Basically they have like:
- Grilled Chicken Chop with BBQ Sauce, Mushroom Sauce, Black Pepper Sauce or Spicy Garlic Sauce at $7.90 each
- Breaded Chicken Cutlet by itself at $8.50 or with Melted Cheese at $9.40
- Rib Eye Beef Steak (200g) with BBQ Sauce, Mushroom Sauce, Black Pepper Sauce, Garlic Merlot Butter Sauce or Garlic Chili at $18.90 each
- Blackened Cajun Rib Eye Beef Steak (200g) at $18.90
- Braised Lamb Shank with Mashed Potato or Black Pepper Sauce at $18.90 each
- Grilled Pork Chop with Mushroom Sauce or Black Pepper Sauce at $7.90 each
- Hickory Smoked BBQ Pork Rib, Spicy Garlic BBQ Pork Rib or Black Pepper BBQ Pork Rib at $18.90 each
- Fish & Chips, Blackened Cajun Fish, Pan Seared Fish with Cafe de Butter at $7.90 each
- Breaded Fish with Chedder Cheese Sauce at $8.50
- Other Items like Burger, Combos, Spaghetti, Bites and Sides

So What We Ordered?
After skimming through the items, we went with the Hickory Smoked BBQ Pork Rib ($18.90) and Rib Eye Steak with BBQ Sauce (Medium Doneness, $18.90).
Payment
We paid with GrabPay (update: they accept ShopeePay now as well) and given a buzzer. Other option includes Cash.
- Pork Rib sauce is too salty big easily torn off
- Portion is large both
- Ribeye can taste the smoky taste.
The Taste
It took around 10 minutes for our buzzer to vibrate and we went to the stall to collect. The serving size was really big. Other than the meats, all the sides were the same – Curly Fries, Buttered Corn and Coleslaw.

We liked that the meat on the Hickory Smoked BBQ Pork Rib could be easily tear off with the knife and fork and there was still a lot of meat after separating them off the rib bone. So in terms of value, we think the price of $18.90 was worth it.
We tasted quite a fair bit of smoky taste from the meat but we were not too sure if it was from the way they prepare it or from the Hickory BBQ Sauce. Only issue we had was that the sauce was way bit too salty after eating too much of it.

The Rib Eye Steak with BBQ Sauce was of 200g and considered quite a big serving. We had ordered Medium Doneness and we liked that there were areas that were reddish (and juicy) with traces of fats around it. BBQ Sauce was pretty normal with that bit of tingling taste.
Some Western Food Stalls gave little attention to the Sides and we were glad that Papa Jones BBQ and Grill is not one of them.
We liked that the Curly Fries were really tasty and it was not oily and overly fried. They also gave extra attention to the Corns and prepared them with Butter so each bite had that extra ooze of buttery taste. The Coleslaw was nicely chopped into really thin slices and given a thick sweet dressing.
Near to the end of our meals (around 2.30pm), the Papa Jones BBQ and Grill Stall was already closed for their afternoon break.
