Eleven Strands is a 70-seater restaurant located in the heart of Serangoon. Situated just opposite Serangoon Stadium, it exudes a modern chic bistro vibe with twists to classic European style décor. It serves a wide range of western food dishes but of particular note is its pasta dishes; it has different pasta styles and also gives diners the option of having the specialty homemade tagliatelle. Our Eleven Strands Review

We chanced upon this cozy restaurant located between a Car Workshop and a Taekwondo Studio after our spin cycling class at Sync Cycle. It was already around 2 plus and there was still a crowd.
We did not manage to get any place inside the air-conditioned area so we just settled with a two-seater outside. That Sunday was moderately hot with on-off wind blowing and luckily no sight of houseflies.
One of their staffs (seemed like only 2 on that day) left behind their menu and went in to serve the others inside.
What They Have In Their Menu?
We did not manage to take any photos and they did have many items on their A4 Sized Menu ranging from Starters / Small Bites, Pasta. Risotto, Mains, Desserts, Signature Drinks, Sodas, Juices, Coffee & Tea and Wine.
What We Ordered?
We went with their Seafood Risotto ($27) from the Risotto Section, Braised Beef Cheeks ($28) from the Mains Section and a Mint Mojito ($9) from their Signature Drinks Section. We also took quite a while to grab the attention of the staffs.
The Taste
— Mint Mojito

The Mint Mojito Drink came first. According to the menu, this drink is made of Mint, Lime, Lemonade, Sugar Syrup, Soda and Water.
Good drink presentation. Taste was sweet and gassy with a tinge of lemon taste. We felt good drinking it on a hot day but serving size was just good enough for one.
— Braised Beef Cheeks

The Braised Beef Cheeks came next. Another good food presentation by Eleven Strands.
This came with some parsley greens but luckily they were not too overwhelming. The red wine sauce gave a flavorful smell. Sauce was a bit oily though and had a tad of peppery beef taste.

Mashed Potato was smooth, no additional taste (just potato, no significant butter or milk taste) and rather dry so we had to eat/mix together with the sauce (oil). We could also taste onions but they were diced finely.
The main character of this dish should be the Beef Cheeks which were served in slices not chunks. The beef was very tender and melted easily in the mouth. The red wine sauce also enhanced the beef taste.
— Seafood Risotto

The Seafood Risotto came last and we nearly gave up waiting for it. There was a strong cheesy smell when served but no strong cheese taste when we ate. There was also Minced Raw Garlic together with green garnishes.

The sauce had a strong Tomato Taste and the overall taste was actually quite salty but still nice. There was also a mixture of finely diced onions, garlic slices and baby tomatoes.
We quite liked the prawns which were though small but had a chunky nice and fresh taste. Clams were plentiful too and chewy too. Squid was nice as well. Overall, we quite like the taste of the Seafood Risotto.
Payment
We made our payment inside and they do accept Credit Card Payment. The Final Bill included Service Charge of 10% as well as GST.
