Our Review On The Providore (Downtown Gallery Outlet)

We were at the Downtown Gallery on a Sunday afternoon for our boxing lesson at the STILL BOXING and so decided to have a quick lunch over at The Providore.

Not many customers on that day and we were given a table with a nice wall decor of natural plants. Service was prompt and we were given the menus and some time to look through.
The Providore Food and Drink Menus

At first glance, they do have many items on their menus so it took us some time to decide what we wanted to eat.
The Food Menu include categories like Breakfast Mains, Sandwiches, Breads & Pastries, Salads & Starters, Pasta & Rice, Meat & Seafood and Cakes & Desserts.
The Drink Menu include categories like Coffee, Tea, Choclate & Chai, Othe Beverages, Draught Beer, Wine and Cocktails & Artisanal Spirits.
If you are conscious on the food options, there are various short codes on the menu – [SS} for Sustainable Seafood, [V] for Vegetarian, [VOA] for Vegetarian Option Available and [GF] for Gluten-Free and their Breads on the Menu can be substituted with Gluten-Free Bread on request.
What We Ordered
We decided to try their Risotto ($29.50), Remedy Kombucha – Lemon Lime & Mint ($8) and a Piccolo Latte – Regular ($5).
The Taste
— Remedy Kombucha & Piccolo Latte

The Remedy Kombucha and Piccolo Latte came first.
For the Remedy Kombucha, it was a sparkling organic drink with no sugars added (as stated on the label as well). We did not manage to taste the mint but the citrus taste was strong. The drink came in a glass bottle (330ml) and served with a cup of ice and a slice of dried orange. This drink was also supposed to be a healthy drink – packed with Live Cultures and Antioxidants so you may want to try this as well. This brand can be found at major supermarkets.
For the Piccolo Latte, we were not sure what kind of coffee concoction this was till we googled it – an interesting article you may want to read as well. Taste wise – the espresso taste was stronger (like Kopi-C Gao) while being able to taste the milk. Definitely a better choice to have if you want more coffee taste as compared to a latte.
— Risotto

The Risotto came shortly after the two drinks. We liked the down-to-earth kind of food presentation.
According to the Menu, this Risotto is Gluten Free and prepared with Shredded Duck Confit, Mushrooms, Truffle Oil, Green Peas, Parmigiano Reggiano (hard dry cheese and supposedly aged for two years) and Crispy Duck Skin.

This Risotto was well-enjoyed. The amount of sauce was just nice, not too wet or dry. Truffle smell was not overwhelming.
The Parmigiano Reggiano gave an additional taste because of its dry and hard nature. The crispy duck skin tasted really good and we just wished they had provided a more generous serving. Mushrooms were cooked just nice, crunchy tender bites which went along well with the soft risotto rice.
The Risotto came with some strands of vegetables mixed amongst the rice. If you do not like the vegetables, you may just want to pick them out alongside the green peas.
— Payment
Payment was done at the counter and service charge of 10% and 7% GST were the additional charges.
