Hitoyoshi Yoshi Sushi

Our Review On Hitoyoshi Yoshi Sushi (Clark Quay)

Hitoyoshi Yoshi Sushi (The Central Clark Quay)

It was a Sunday Afternoon, after our Rope Yoga Lesson over at Club Yoga, that we decided to try out the sushi over at Hitoyoshi Yoshi Sushi Outlet over at The Central (Clark Quay).

This Hitoyoshi Yoshi Sushi Outlet has always been popular with many customers whenever we were at the area and we were lucky to get a place for two without waiting at all.

The Menu And What We Ordered

After we settled down at our Table, we were given a slip with a QR Code and we were told to scan it for their Online Menu and to make our orders. Payment was to be made at the counter after we ate.

They have quite a list of Food Categories like Zensai & Salad, Sashimi, Nigiri, Aburi Nigiri, Gunkan, Inari, Temaki, Sushi Platter, Maki, Agemon, Tempura, Yakimono, Itamemono, Kaisen Donburi, Japanese Curry, Zousui, Nabemono, Soba & Udon, Kid Set, Desserts, Drinks, Beer, House Sake and Sake.

One thing that we did not like about the online menu was that there was no description about the food and image was not really clear. Anyway, after looking through, we decided to try out their Seafood Zousui ($18.90), Aburi Salmon Mentai Maki ($17.90), Cranberry Juice ($3.90) and Cranberry Yakult ($5.90).

After sending in the order, in just a short manner, one of the staff prepared a utensil tray, soy sauce and wasabi.

The two drinks were served after that, followed by the two main food items.

The Taste

— Cranberry Juice and Cranberry Yakult

Cranberry Yakult & Cranberry Juice

The Cranberry Drinks were not those freshly made but more from concentrated kind. They tasted rather similar to Ribena and luckily, they were not too sweet.

— Seafood Zousui

Seafood Zousui

The Seafood Zousui (or Zosui, otherwise known as Japanese Rice Porridge Style) was in a Claypot and was served pipingly hot. The staff warned us a few times to be careful. On first look (and without any mixing), we joked that it looked like fresh puke.

Mushroom, Carrots, Salmon...

Looks aside… in terms of taste, this Seafood Zousui had many ingredients like Mushrooms, Carrots, Salmons, Seaweed, Eggs and Prawns. What we liked was the soup which was very flavourful (tasted like mix of prawn and crab) and it went well with the rice. The ingredients also went well with the soup and the rice and they were tasted better when ate together.

Serving Size was more than enough for two.

Aburi Salmon Mentai Maki

Aburi Salmon Mentai Maki

On first look, the Aburi Salmon Mentai Maki looked very nice with the blends of Orange, Pink and Green.

Each Maki piece was also very well made and we could easily pick each piece up without having anything breaking apart, even so when we took out the cucumber piece.

Taste wise, we would say it was rather normal and did not have a significant taste, Maybe the taste from Seafood Zousui overwhelmed our taste buds a bit. One thing, we had wished that the flamed salmon was a bit thicker and with a bit more flamed taste. Other than that, we liked the mild sourly taste of the mentaiko and a little fun of bursting them inside our mouth.

Payment

We made payment over at the cashier counter and via ShopBack (3% Cashback) which was linked to our Amaze and Citi Rewards Card. Additional charges included 10% Service Charge and 9% GST.
