We tried out this Rod Dee Thai Cafe for lunch on a late Sunday afternoon after our Les Mills BodyPump Lesson over at FitNJoy. This cafe is located around Teo Hong Road which you can also find the popular Stinky by 99 Old Trees Durian at the corner.

We were given a table and told to scan the QR Code for the Online Menu, make our orders and payment as well.

The Taste

— Thai Lemongrass and Thai Ice Coffee

Thai Lemongrass and Thai Ice Coffee

Utensils were brought to us after our online order and following a short wait of 5 minutes, the two drinks were served next.

Coffee looked very pale and tasted like cold brew. Lemongrass tasted quite authentic.

— Pork Boat Noodle (Soup)

Pork Boat Noodle (Soup)

The Pork Boat Noodle (Soup) was served next in bowl shaped like a Boat! It came with quite a good serving of soup, lump of noodles mixed with Pork, bean sprouts, greens and fried shallots. It also came with a small saucer of chili flakes.

Rice Noodles

The rice noodles were tangled together and were quite hard to separate. They tasted good with the broth which was quite flavorful and a bit of crunch with the beansprout. The chili flakes also made a lasting and numbing spiciness when mixed and ate with the broth. We think it was a good choice to mix the flakes with the broth.

Three Types of Pork Meat

There was also quite a good serving of pork, which was a mixture of pork slices with fats in some of it and meat balls which tasted like those handmade type. The pork slices were quite tender as well.

More items on their online menu. Birthday song playing.

— Pork Skewer (Moo Ping) (3 pcs)

Pork Skewer (Moo Ping) (3 pcs)

The 3 pieces of Pork Skewer (Moo Ping) came next. We took a quite bite of it and we immediately liked the taste – tender, tinge of sweetness and fragrant with every bite. This is a must-try!

— Grill Pork Collar

Grill Pork Collar

The Grill Pork Collar was finally served and it came with bit of waiting. This was also served with a small sauce of Spicy Fish Sauce which tasted quite special. The serving size was quite big as well.

A slice of the Grill Pork Collar

We quite liked the meat as well which was crispy and a slight tinge of sweetness on the outside and soft with some bit of fats on the inside.

— Thai Chendol

Thai Chendol

We asked for our Thai Chendol towards the end of our meal. It was served in a interesting bowl shaped like a propellor. Their chendol was a mixture of very thick and sweet coconut milk, very crunchy spolid piece of ice, thick red bean and mushy green jelly. Every spoon was an enjoyment and test on how strong our teeth was when we bit through the ice.

— Ambiance And Service

Ambiance

The overall service from the staffs was nice and positive. Ambiance was quite interesting as well as they were playing birthday song but no tables were celebrating anything.
