Our Review On Little Rogue Coffee (Yong Siak Street)

We were initially in the vicinity of the Yong Siak Street for our Yoga Lesson and we chanced upon this Little Rogue Coffee which had many customers before and after our lesson. We decided to try them out after our lesson and seeing that many indoor seats had been taken, we chose an outdoor table for two.
One of the staff pointed out a QR Code on the table top and told us to scan, look at the menu, submit and pay for our order.
Ambiance
The whole place had a very woody vibe and lots of orange light. It was a Sunday afternoon, around 2pm and many of the customers were young professionals, couples and young family.

The Taste
— Old Skull Seafood Mafaldine Pasta

According to the Menu, this dish comes with the following ingredients – Cod Fish, White Clams, Prawns, Prawn Stock, White Wine, Cherry Tomato, Bird’s Eye Chili and Parsley.
This Old Skull Seafood Mafaldine Pasta was served around 10 minutes after submitting the online order.

According to Wikipedia, Mafaldine Pasta is a ribbon-shaped pasta which came from the Naples area and was named in honor of the birth of Princess Mafalda of Savoy.
If you are into Bak Chor Mee and you like your Mee Pok, this pasta had an almost similar chewy texture but thicker and harder to handle by mere scooping with the fork and spoon (most of the strands would just slip away).

The size of the cooked White Clams were a bit small and sad that we tasted sand / grit in one of the clams.

The texture of the Cod Fish was rather tough (could be a sign of overcooking) and we quite liked the chewy texture of the prawns.

There were few pieces of Cherry Tomatoes which existed in a thin and smashed state. The broth was quite flavorful, rich and creamy and there was near to no existence of the parsley.
— Braised Beef Cheeks

According to the Menu, this dish comes with the following Ingredients – Beef Cheeks, Mashed Potato, Black Mushroom and Truffle Puree, Tomato and Parsley, Beef Jus.
This Braised Beef Cheeks came shortly after the Old Skull Seafood Mafaldine Pasta was served. So the overall waiting time was around 10 – 15 minutes after submitting our order.

We liked their Braised Beef cheeks and almost every chunks were very soft.

The Truffle Potato Puree was thick and soft to taste. The tomatoes were mostly just the skin. The sauce was also rich and nice.
