Supper Deck (Bedok)

Our Supper Deck Review

Supper Deck is a cozy place for nice Halal Asian, Burgers and Western Food.

Supper Deck is a nice and cozy eating place at a corner that we found when we were deciding what to eat for our dinner at The Bedok Marketplace. They serve Halal Asian, Burgers, Western as well as Finger Food.

They have two eating areas – a few tables outside and a stretch of tables inside. We chose a table for 2 in the inside area. We were given the menu (alternatively, there is a QR Code Sticker on the Table which will bring you to a PDF Menu stored in their Google Drive).

There were quite a number of food items to choose from their menu and we decided to try their Nasi Goreng Supper Deck ($13.90), USDA 250g Ribeye ($26.90), Iced Lime Juice (Calamansi)($2.50) and Iced Kopi (Kosong)($2.70).

— Iced Lime Juice (Calamansi)and Iced Kopi (Kosong)

Iced Lime Juice and Iced Kopi Kosong.

The Iced Lime Juice and Iced Kopi came first (and fast after our orders) and the drink sizes were quite tall so we felt that the prices that we were paying were justified (as compared to most stalls that serve a smaller size for around the same size). Taste wise was pretty normal.

— Nasi Goreng Supper Deck

Nasi Goreng Supper Deck

The Nasi Goreng Supper Deck was served next. This dish consisted of Indonesian Fried Rice, Marinated Grilled Chicken, Sunny Side Up, Keropok and Belacan (spicy shrimp paste). The serving size was rather big as well but still good enough for the two of us to finish.

First off… it came with a lot of greens so we had a little hard time trying to get them out. The Belacan was nice and spicy and tasted good on its own as well as with the rice and chicken.

As we scooped up our first mouth, we found the base of the plate to be oily. Luckily, it tasted just fine inside our mouth. The Fried Rice was spicy on its own even without the Belacan.

Keropok was colorful and crunchy. The Sunny Side Up had a sprinkle of dark sauce and was still runny when we broke the egg yolk.

The Marinated Chicken piece from the Nasi Goreng Supper Deck.

The Marinated Chicken was tender and nice and most of the pieces had a layer of tasty chewy skin as well.

— USDA 250g Ribeye

The USDA 250g Ribeye Steak from Supper Deck.

The 250g Ribeye Steak was served last and once again, the serving was big as well. It came with a big serving of greens and baby tomatoes, a small tub of Mushroom Sauce, a piece of steak resting on a bed of (long) Asparagus and Mushrooms.

For our two sides, we went with Grilled Asparagus and Sauteed Mushrooms. Other options include Roasted Potatoes and Mashed Potatoes. We went with Medium doneness for our Ribeye Steak.

The greens were rather mushy in taste but we liked the baby tomatoes which were very juicy inside our mouth. We had wished that they had given us a bit more of the salad dressing to go with the greens. Serving size for the Sauteed mushrooms was big but tasted pretty normal.

The many and long pieces of Grilled Asparagus.

The serving size for the Grilled Asparagus was big as well and we had to take some time to cut them up. Taste wise was pretty normal though.

A chunk of the Ribeye Steak with Mushroom Sauce

We liked that the Ribeye Steak came with a lot of chewy fatty parts and the mushroom sauce enhanced the taste of the meat. The thickness of the meat was rather impressive as well – around the thickness of a guy’s pinky finger. There was no meat juice (the ‘blood’) that came with medium doneness. Overall, the taste of the steak was good.

Payment

Payment was done at the counter near to the entrance. The boss handled our payment and made a small chat with us asking us on the service and taste. A nice and friendly guy. They also do not charge any Additional Service Charge or GST.
