Our Review On Chimichanga (PLQ Mall)
Chimichanga is a Mexican Restaurant which we chanced upon when we were at PLQ Mall on a (very, very) hot Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was pretty crowded that day with only a few high dining tables and chairs available in the alfresco area and we decided to take it. Luckily, they have those Industrial Big Round Fan blowing from the corner so it was bearable while sitting near the sunny area.
What We Ordered
They seemed pretty shorthanded (like 2 Servers taking care of all the tables) that day and one of them just told us to scan the QR Code and make our orders.

For the Food Menu, Chimichanga has quite a good listing to choose from. We were not big eaters that day so we decided to go for their Smashed Angus Cheeseburger ($24) and Meatless Luncheon Fries ($10).
The Taste
— Meatless Luncheon Fries
It took quite some time for our food to be served and the first item was our Meatless Luncheon Fries, which in the menu, says Meat-Free Spam Fries, Tofu Aioli. Looks wise, the fries looked like cut-strips of thinly-fried Spam/Luncheon meat.
Taste wise, it was internally, like tofu and a bit bland. There was a nice fragrance and it was from the crispy layer. Sauce was really salty but when ate together with the fries, the whole mixture tasted like actual luncheon meat. We had a bit of hard time finishing up the fries as the sauce was really salty.
— Smashed Angus Cheeseburger
It was quite a wait before the Smashed Angus Cheeseburger was served. Anyway, the area outside Chimichanga was quite entertaining, they are a dog-friendly restaurant (reservation is required) and we got to see many helpers (on their off days) with songs and dances.
According to the menu, this dish was made up of Angus Beef Patty (150g), Golden Toasted Buns, Jalapeño Mayo, Onion Confit, Cheddar & Monterey Jack Cheese, Greens, served with Tortilla Chips.
First off, we tried to squeeze off this Lime but no matter how hard we tried, we got no juice out of it. Come to think of it… were we supposed to rub or lick it?
Tortilla Chips were pretty normal (corn taste, with mild saltiness) though we wished it came with some dips. We did try eating them with the sauce that came with the luncheon fries. So, it was mild saltiness + a lot of saltiness.
The greens came with some kind of green sour cream. Nothing fantastic and best ate with a spoon.
Burger was a good mix of a Toasted Sesame Bun (with tinge of buttery taste), the Smashed Angus Patty with a good chunk of melted cheese and sweet onion slices on top, some purple cabbage covered in mayo and another well toasted bun on the bottom.
For the Angus Beef Patty, it was quite thick and compact for a 150g. The inside of the patty was quite juicy and flavorful and with a slight pinkiness in the center.
Payment
For Chimichanga, the payment was done via the QR Code Menu so we had to scan the QR Code and click on the Pay Now Button. The listed amount was before GST and Service Charge. Payment was settled online via a Credit Card.
After that we had to approach a staff to inform them that we had settled payment. This was not easy as the staffs were busy with the other tables and we had to wait and gesture a few times before we could catch the attention of one of the staffs.
