Who Is Behind Honeypeachsg Bakery?
Honeypeachsg Bakery is created by two passionate artisanal cake artists who believed in creating pretty yet tasty cakes. We limit the use of fondant decorations in our cakes, as fondants are made from sweet icing and do not taste as good as cream cakes. The constant innovation of unique cake designs and fresh new flavours for our customers to enjoy is always at the top of our priority list. (Source: Our Story)
Our Sponsored Review On Honeypeachsg Bakery
Firstly, we need to highlight that this is a sponsored post where Honeypeachsg Bakery has sent us one of their Standard Cakes and Dessert (we chose what we liked) for free in exchange for an honest taste review. We contacted each other mainly through email exchanges and no face-to-face or phone / video calls.
What Standard Cake And Dessert Did We Choose?
They had 19 Standard Cakes and 34 Dessert Types to choose from and we really had a hard time choosing but we finally chose the Roasted Black Sesame Cake and Lemon Meringue Tarts after applying our personal taste filters.

— Roasted Black Sesame Cake (6″ Classic)

The ribbon was pretty easy to untie but the plastic casing required steady hands and careful lifting as we nearly smudged the sides of the cake.
The first impression of the Roasted Black Sesame Cake was that the 6″ size was too big for two of us alone but should be enough to share with our family members.

Slicing through the cake was also very smooth and there were no hard or crispy bits to cut through. We had thought that the cake would have a solid (biscuit) base (like most cakes) but there was none.

The cake consisted of vanilla-mixed-with-black-sesame coating (top and sides) with 3 layers of sponge and 2 layers of thick black sesame fillings (where our fork is pointing). There was also this brown coating but not too sure what it was.

Now that we had dissected the cake, it was time to taste it.
The cream was very fresh, not sweet, not heavy, and best of all we could taste different intensity of the roasted black sesame among the layers. The most flavorful would be the two layers of cream filling with tasty bits of black sesame.
For the sponge layer, they were really soft and fluffy as what Honeypeachsg Bakery had described on its page. They were so soft that no biting would be required – just melt it inside our mouth.
While we ate half of the cake that evening, we kept the remaining in the refrigerator. And we liked the roasted black sesame taste even better especially the top coating and the fillings layer. Sponge was less soft but still melted easily.
Overall, we enjoyed this cake and if only thing that we wished for would be to gave something crunchy in the cream within the layers of the cake.

— Lemon Meringue Tart (Box of 9)

We tried the Lemon Meringue Tarts next. Unboxing was simple and hassle-free. Just lifting the box lid up revealed the 9 delicious-looking round tarts with torched cream on top. The tarts filled up the box nicely and were not “glued” to the base as like its cousins (Pâte Sablée) sold in other shops, hence you want to be careful carrying them place to place.

We took one out but was sad to see the sides of the tart dented in. Most or all of the tarts have it and we guessed they were due to tongs.

Size of the tarts was bite size and you could just pop one into your mouth and go off. We did the first cut with our fork and the lemon in the middle flowed out like molten lava (and a strong lemony smell) and the tart still held itself well.
The first bite of the tart (especially the crust area) really tasted like those home-made pineapple tarts we ate during Chinese New Year and the differences between the two were the gooey lemon in the middle and the torched cream on top. We liked that the torched cream on top added a tinge of class to the overall look of the tart.

We also kept some of the tarts in our refrigerator overnight and we got a different taste. The torched cream got harder and the gooey lemon was slightly harder as well. We found another way of eating the tarts by eating the tart layer by layer. We tried eating the torched cream and the molten lemon on their own and each got their distinctive taste. Eating the tart itself was also nice after freezing them overnight.
While we enjoyed the tarts, some of our family members did not as they found the gooey lemon overly sour to their liking. Other than that, the tarts were generally nice. Another recommended tasty item.
