Our 5D5N Travel Experience To Osaka, Nara & Kyoto

Day #5 – Last Minute Shopping At Don Quijote Osaka

Don Quixote Osaka

This morning was a rainy day and also our last day. We woke up early to do our last minute shopping at this 7-storey high, open 24 hours, Don Quijote Osaka opposite the Cross Hotel Osaka.

Experiences:

For men, nothing much unless snacks and instant noodles. For ladies, this should be a shopping haven as you could get lots of cosmetics at competitive prices. Price Differences between other competitors were not that huge. Other differences could be maximum number you could buy at one go – Don Quijote offered slightly better rates and options so you could just shop everything there. But unluckily we could not find some of the cosmetics brands there so we had to get them from various Kokumin Drug Stores at Dotonbori.

Our Advice: If you have a list of brands to buy, you will need to plan for at least 2 – 3 hours as the queues at some stores could be long and the Tax Clearance part would take time too.

Taking Our Bus To Itami Airport (Outside Hotel Ichiei)

Itami Airport Bus Service

After our shopping, it was time to take our bus to Itami Airport and if you need to take the same bus service, please take note that the bus stop and ticketing station are just outside Hotel Ichiei. No toilets are nearby so clear your system at your hotel first before you come here to board the bus.

Do note that the pass you bought at the airport earlier may be for the Kansai Airport. If you happen to be like us and bought the wrong tickets, just buy the tickets to Itami Airport at the ticketing counter beside the stop. There are no chances of them accepting your wrongly bought tickets.

Our Last Lunch At Sky Patio

Sky//Patio Curry Rice & Omelet Rice

We reached Itami Airport (nothing much to do there after checking in) and we decided to try the Curry and Omelet Rice at the Sky Patio Restaurant before we laze around for two hours before we could board the plane to Narita Airport.

Overall the service at Sky Patio was fast and the tastes were:

  • Curry was very authentic – Japanese-style and really spicy but went well with the rice
  • Omelet was cooked well – we didn’t get that bloated feeling while eating

Our Last Snacks At Narita Airport

Snacks At Narita Airport

We reached Narita Airport after an hour plan ride and since we had around an hour and half for the final flight back to Singapore, we did our last minute shopping for souvenirs and we bought drinks like the Coca-Cola Peach flavor (only in Japan) and snacks like the Red Bean Bun (very nice!).

If you are thinking of buying snacks and souvenirs, it can be very frustrating as the queues at Narita Airport are SUPER LONG. A suggestion will be to check in and buy whatever after that. The variety may not be as great as what is sold outside but at least its not so crowded and you can grab and go in a short time.

And with this… we took our flight back and thus ended our 5D5N trip to Osaka, Kyoto and Nara.

Hope you enjoyed reading and may our travel experience help you with your planning as well!
