Our Review On The Daily Cut (Tanjong Pagar)

The Daily Cut (Tanjong Pagar)

We checked out this The Daily Cut located at B2 of Guoco Tower, one of the few eating outlets that are still opened on a Sunday afternoon and this place was popularly known for promoting healthy eating and they always have a queue that never seemed to stop (even worse during lunch hours on a working day).

We were lucky to find a corner table. We wrote up the orders and joined the queue.

What Are The Ingredients Worth Trying?

We went with one Petite (Romaine Lettuce, Whole-Grain Pasta, Herb-Crusted Dory, Sweet Corn, Onsen Egg, Shaved Parmesan, Garlic Chilli Olive Oil) and one Regular (Brown Rice Pilaf, Whole-Grain Pasta, Teriyaki Chicken Leg, Charred Broccoli, Caramelized Mushrooms, Sichuan Tofu, Roasted Chestnuts, Chipotle Barbeque).

— Regular

Regular (The Daily Cut)

In terms of money worth, we felt the Regular size would be the one. Petite would be suitable for those who are light eaters and easily full. Regular gave us the nearly-bloated feeling.

From the ingredients that we had chosen, we felt that these were the ingredients that are definitely worth a try and why:

  • Teriyaki Chicken Leg – It came with quite a number of large pieces. Meat was very tender and the teriyaki sauce was on point.
  • Chipotle Barbeque – Dressing was very fragrant and spicy.
  • Brown Rice Pilaf – It went really well with the Teriyaki Chicken Leg and had those kind of semi-chewy kind of taste.

Payment

Payment was done together with the order. GST was included with the price and no service charge.

Ambiance & Services

The Daily Cut (Services)

4 young staffs handled the whole place – 1 at the Cashier, 2 attended to the orders and 1 was calling out the order. The time it took to take in our orders, made our payments and served our orders were pretty fast.

As the place was pretty crowded most of the time, customers need to take the initiative to clear the disposable bowls and not left them on the table – wiping down inclusive.

The place, itself, is definitely not a place for chill and relax and long chit chats. There could be times that you see other customers sharing the same table.
